Alec Baldwin has returned to the Twitter-verse.

After a month-long hiatus, the 53-year-old ?30 Rock? star tweeted simply "Back on Twitter," before wishing his followers a belated happy new year and having a short back-and-forth with gal pal Hilaria Thomas.

Baldwin abandoned Twitter after getting kicked off an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York for disobeying a flight attendant's request to put away his iPad before takeoff.

The hot-tempered actor complained about his ordeal in real time before announcing his departure from Twitter.

"Let's play a game called Mass Unfollowing," he wrote in a Dec. 6 tweet. "I want to crash this acct and start again. But, tonight at 10PM, NY time, unfollow me."

The strategy didn't work. His handle, @alecbaldwin, currently has over 600,000 followers.

The actor's return to the popular micro-blogging site came days after reports that he plans to stay on for a seventh season of the NBC sitcom.

"If there is a seventh season and NBC is still a thing, then we'll all be back," ?30 Rock? co-star Tina Fey said on the ?Late Show with David Letterman? Thursday night.

NBC Entertainment Executive Bob Greenblatt confirmed to reporters Friday that Baldwin would return if the network renewed the show's contract for a seventh season, New York Magazine reported.
