Intramurals: Do you play? | NGU Skyliner

Jonathan Coelho
Staff Writer

Intramural sports have always been a hit around college campuses and North Greenville University is no different.

North Greenville offers a variety of intramural sports, including Flag Football, Co-ed Sand Volleyball, Co-ed Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball, Disc Golf, Spades Tournaments, Men?s Softball, Women?s League Basketball, Competitive League Basketball, Recreation League Basketball, Co-ed Softball, Competitive League Indoor Soccer, and Recreation League Indoor Soccer.

The goals of NGU intramural sports as described on the school website are ?to place an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal fitness within the context of a Christ-centered environment. Everyone is invited to participate, regardless of skill level or past experience. Intramural sports are fun, free, and an excellent way to build relationships with those possessing similar interests.?

Aaron Chappell, sophomore social studies education, said, ?It?s great for former high school athletes who do not participate in college sports and those students who want to play sports with their friends.?

The current intramural sports are basketball and men?s softball and indoor soccer and co-ed softball will begin after spring break.

Those who want to compete in intramurals, learn more, or suggest a new intramural sport should contact Coordinator for Intramural Sports Dillon Key via E-mail at dillon.key@ngu.edu, or call him Dillon at (864)-977-7126. Students can also find out about NGU intramurals on Facebook and Twitter.
